Title of position: Family caregiver, for private home

 

Candidate is to care for 2 children: a 7-year-old child with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), and a 5-year-old child

 

Duties: Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, Supervise and care for children, Take children to and from school and to appointments, Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, Organize activities, such as games and outings for children, Prepare and serve nutritious meals, Provide personal care, Tend to emotional well-being of children, Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens; Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties; Synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents; Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents

 

Terms of employment: 30 hours/week, permanent, full-time, mornings, day, evening, with split shifts and overtime if needed

 

Wages $21.00 per hour

Public transportation is available

 

Education required: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate /Completion of high school.

Work experience required: 1 year to less than 2 years of caregiving experience; experience with special needs children

First Aid & CPR Certification

Language required to do the work: English

 

Other conditions: Live in/Live out is considered & is optional (this is NOT a condition of employment); staff accommodation available; optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis (this is NOT a condition of employment)

Criminal record check will be required
