APS Metal Industries Inc. is a long-established sheet-metal manufacturing company based in Pickering, Ontario. We are currently seeking a permanent full-time Cleaning Supervisor to oversee and coordinate cleaning and sanitation activities across our manufacturing facility.

This position plays a key role in ensuring a safe, clean, and compliant work environment through direct supervision of cleaning staff, adherence to health and safety regulations, and hands-on cleaning where needed. Duties include:

  Supervise and lead a team of cleaners to ensure all areas of the facility are maintained in accordance with strict cleanliness and occupational health and safety standards

  Conduct regular safety inspections of production floors, offices, washrooms, and common areas to identify sanitation risks, potential hazards, and non-compliance with safety protocols

  Ensure all cleaning tasks are performed using safe work practices, including correct handling, labeling, and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals per WHMIS guidelines

  Provide hands-on training to cleaning staff in safe use of industrial cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuums, pressure washers) and in the proper wearing of PPE

  Monitor adherence to site-specific safety procedures, including fall prevention, chemical spill response, and safe waste disposal

  Maintain cleaning and safety checklists/logs, ensuring completion and accuracy for internal audits and inspections

  Respond immediately to reports of spills, contamination, or safety incidents, and coordinate appropriate containment and resolution measures

  Participate in workplace safety meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of health and sanitation protocols

  Assist with the development and revision of cleaning schedules and safety procedures to reflect operational needs and updated safety regulations

  Serve as the primary liaison between the cleaning team and facility management regarding sanitation concerns, staffing, and resource requirements

  When required, perform cleaning tasks to support the team and reinforce best practices through example

Compensation package:

–          Wage of $25.44 per hour with 40 hours a week of workload

–          Corporate benefits including medical insurance, dental insurance, disability insurance, paid vacation (10 business days per year)

Location of Work: Pickering, Ontario (on-site at company facility)

Skills Requirements

–          Completion of secondary school is required

–          Minimum 1 year of cleaning experience in different workplace setting

–          Ability to lead, motivate, and train a team while maintaining high cleanliness standards

–          Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks for extended periods

–          Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

–          Experience following established cleaning procedures, safety rules, and hygiene protocols

–          Demonstrated ability to work in structured environments where cleanliness, order, and safety are critical

–          Specialized knowledge of safe cleaning practices, including proper use of cleaning products and equipment

–          Awareness of workplace safety procedures and ability to follow site-specific safety instructions

–          Ability to identify and report safety hazards, spills, or sanitation issues promptly

–          Commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for all staff

–          Strong attention to detail and sense of responsibility

–          Physically able to perform cleaning duties throughout a full shift

–          Basic understanding of industrial machinery and cleaning equipment maintenance

–          Ability to communicate in English to understand safety instructions, follow cleaning procedures, and report issues to supervisors
