Overview
For over 38 years, LAING Roofing Ltd. has provided full building envelope services, including roofing, sheet metal, waterproofing and wall system installations for commercial, industrial, and large-scale residential projects throughout Western Canada.
We are hiring enthusiastic, full-time Labourers and Apprentice Roofers to assist us in the installation of advanced roofing systems using the latest technologies. Ideally, we are seeking those who have prior construction or roofing experience who are looking for a career to develop into, not just a job. Responsibilities
Tasks
Ø Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
Ø Measure and mark sheet metal according to template
Ø Supervise other workers
Ø Cut materials using power tools or by hand
Ø Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment
Ø Fit and join sheet metal parts
Ø Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
Ø Install sheet metal flashings
Ø Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level
Ø Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools
Ø Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
Ø Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools
Ø Install sheet metal flashings
Ø Expertly applying material to the exterior walls of buildings, keeping precision and aesthetics in mind while also working in an efficient time frame
Ø Skillfully install everything from paper, strapping, flashing, Blueskin, window and door trim, to posts, beams, fascia, soffit, siding, and exterior insulation
Ø Measuring, marking, and cutting various gauges of metal
Ø Assist Team Leads and Journeymen with various construction activities, as directed
Ø Operating various types of lifts safely and effectively
Maintain proper safety codes and procedures
