Position: Ethnic Food Cook

Duties:
· Prepare and Cook traditional Ethiopian cuisine such as Doro Wet (chicken stew), Injera (Sourdough Flatbread), Tibs (Sauteed meat Chunks), Shiro be kibbe (legume stew), Kitfo (Ethiopian beef tartare) and Fir-Fir (sautéed injera)
· Plan daily menus and ensure food meets the standards of the restaurant
· Estimate food requirements and costs and monitor and order supplies
· Prepare dishes to the specification of clients
· Clean kitchen and work areas
· Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
· Recruit and hire new kitchen staff
· Train staff how to make Ethiopian specialty dishes
· Ensure great presentation of foods in traditional Ethiopian way before serving
Experience and Knowledge:
· 2 years to less than 3 years supervisory skills in the kitchen and hands on experience in Ethiopian Cuisine
· Knowledge of using Ethiopian ingredients such as the Berbere, beso bela, ginger and garlic ground, korerima, mekelesha, koseret, mitmita, tumerik and paprika.
