High Sierra Holdings Ltd. is hiring in the position of Construction Trades Support to perform jobs across Calgary and Banff, Alberta.
This position requires individuals with 1-2 years of solid experience in the construction industry, who are able to support our trades teams in performing numerous tasks related to masonry, cement finishing, and stucco application. We are pleased to interview youth.
Wage: $26.00 per hour
Permanent, full-time position, 40-44 hours per week
Shifts: early morning, morning, day and weekend
Experience 1 to 2 years
Language: English
Asset Language: Spanish is an asset only
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required
Tasks:
-Load, unload and transport construction materials
-Perform pre-operational inspection
-Read blueprints to determine work requirements
-Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades
-Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
-Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs
-Level earth to fine grade specifications
-Pave and rake asphalt
-Assist in demolishing buildings
-Clean and pile salvaged materials
-Perform routine maintenance work
-Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
-Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
-Install vapour barriers and fire-retardant materials
-Help tradespersons, apprentices and other workers as directed
-Cut materials using power tools or by hand
-Utilize hand and power tools
-Operate blade or wire saws to cut blocks of stone to specified dimensions
Work site environment: outdoors, noisy, dusty
Work setting: residential and commercial sites, renovations, repairs, construction sites
Tools/equipment: must have hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, steel toed boots, safety gloves, and safety vest
Working conditions: outdoors, noisy, dusty
Business location: Calgary, AB, T3R 1G7
Location of work: Construction job sites across Calgary and Banff, Alberta
