Job Description
NDura Developments Ltd. is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper who must have a background in the construction industry to manage the financial operations of our growing company.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Duties:
- Maintain and reconcile accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
- Record and reconcile journal entries, manage general ledgers, and prepare financial statements.
- Track and process payments for utilities, taxes, payroll, contractors, and other business expenses.
- Coordinate with suppliers to manage payments and resolve account-related concerns.
- Apply for and manage supplier credit accounts while ensuring compliance with terms.
- Complete and submit tax remittance forms, GST returns, T4s, and other regulatory filings.
- Calculate and prepare payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
- Assist with budgeting by monitoring expenses and analyzing costs.
- Prepare financial reports to support management decision-making, focusing on cash flow management and project reports.
- Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits.
Qualifications
- Minimum completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field, OR two years (first level) of a recognized professional accounting program.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle dual responsibilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Proven experience in construction accounting, specifically in residential development with Project accounting method.
- Familiarity with construction terminology, tools, equipment, materials, insurance policies, and suppliers, with the ability to classify and process invoices and bills correctly.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage financial records for 20–30 developing houses and buildings with minimal instructions or supervision.
- Understanding of cash flow management and prior experience handling business cash flow.
