Responsibilities

Tasks

– Cuts and trims such meat cuts as a chuck, hams, flanks and shoulders to shape meat and remove fat and

defects. – Trims meat from bones and ribs – Cut or prepare meats to specification or customer’s order

– Use knife and meat hook; navigates knife around bones to separate meat, fat or tissue from bone. – Pulls and twist bones loose from meat.

– Grind meats and slice cooked meats using powered grinders and slicing machines

-Prepare special displays of meat poultry

– Shape, lace and tie roasts and other meats, poultry and may wrap

prepared meats, poultry – Ensure food storage conditions are adequate

– Help where needed to lift heavy

things or lend a hand as necessary

– Treat others with respect, listen to your supervisor and act as a team player

– Manage inventory, keep records of sales and determine amount, product line and freshness of products according to company and customer requirements
